Djakarta Gourmet Atelier didirikan oleh Sukma Safana Sutedja dengan Sarah Ruthiane Herbert dimana kedua wanita tersebut bersekolah di sekolah memasak yang sama. Sarah memutuskan untuk tidak masuk ke dalam jajaran pimpinan restoran dan bergerak sebagai investor utama. Sedangkan Sukma menjadi General Manager dengan restoran dipercayakan pada Argarick Dean Dieter sebagai CEO.

Di bawah pimpinan Argarick Dean Dieter dan Sukma Safana Sutedja, Djakarta Gourmet Atelier menjadi salah satu restoran ternama dengan partisipasinya dalam berbagai acara besar, menjalin kerjasama dengan jaringan luas. Serta membuka dua cabang lainnya yang bertempat di London, Inggris, dan Hongkong (Michelin Certified).

Terjadi pergeseran kepemimpinan restoran dimana Argarick Dean Dieter dan Sukma Safana Sutedja memutuskan untuk melepaskan restoran sehingga kepemilikan utuh diserahkan kepada Sarah Ruthianne Herbert dengan sokongan dari keluarganya dan pembangunan ulang.
